UDIS Employees' Meet - 2010 On behalf of the UDIS Forum, the annual meet of those who were facilitated with employment by the Forum was arranged on the forenoon of 28th March 2010 at BMN Kalyana Mandapam, Coimbatore. A total of 285 persons including 147 Clients, 15 Training Clients, 56 Parents, 5 Employers and others attended the programme. The Employers’ representatives were from i) Sri Krishna Sweets ii) Kenvivo Communications Private Ltd. iii) Auto Tex iv) Optimum Training Centre v) Sangam Stores and vi) National Adventure Leadership School. In the absence of the Forum President Dr. M. N. G. Mani, the Vice President Mr. S. S. Siva chaired the function. After prayer and Welcome Address by Mr. S. Sekaran, Executive Director, the meeting Chairman read over the message sent by the Forum President Dr. M.N.G. Mani, appreciating the employed PWD’s as the Brand Ambassadors for the entire PWD Community, thanking the Private Employers for their readiness in providing jobs to the PWD’s and announcing the Specific Programmes planned by the Forum for the year 2010, viz., i) Providing Job Assistance to the family members of the PWDs, ii) Assisting and Encouraging 10 DPOs and 10 Parents Associations in the State and iii) Launching the Senior Citizens Wing for Disability Service in the month of May 2010. Mr. Siva further appealed to the PWDs to utilise the helpful climate available for their employment in the Private Sector and unite under the banner of DPOs and Parents Associations. In his Special Address, Mr. L. Sivasamy, AD, District Employment Office, Coimbatore explained the special schemes announced by the Government for the PWDs, motivated them to go for private jobs till they get Government jobs and to improve their educational qualification and other vocational skills for getting better employment prospect. The Chief Guest Mr. M. Krishnan, CMD, Sri Krishna Sweets, mentioned that though the PWDs might be lacking in strength, they are excellent in certain abilities and so the employers are ready to use their abilities. He announced that he would be happy to take in more number of PWDs in his group of concerns. UDIS Forum Trustees Mr. S. Samarasapandian, Mr. R. Srinivasan, Mr. Suriya Nagappan and Ms. Suganthi offered felicitation explaining the various services rendered by the Forum. On behalf of the employers, Mr. Seshadri (NALS), Mr. Kumaragurubaran (Kenvivo), Mr. Manikandan (Auto Tex) and Mr. Bharath Shah (Sangam Stores) complimented the UDIS Forum for its work and appreciated the loyalty and sincerity of the disabled employees working in their companies. From the employees’ side also many representatives expressed their thanks to the UDIS Forum for getting them the job. A few PWDs rendered song and instrumental music. The Chief Guest Mr. M. Krishnan, Mr. L. Sivasamy and Mr. Suba Subramaniam (Managing Trustee of BMN Mandapam) were honoured with shawls. Ms. Kalpana, UDIS Coordinator proposed the vote of thanks. ++ Top
